One of my favorite wines is from Australia, and it’s called Yellowtail (view the wikipedia page or the wine’s web site).
A bottle usually costs around $12 and can be found at local liquor stores (click here for the addresses and more info about Liquor stores in Vancouver).
Please drink responsibly!

The Hamilton Street Grill (map, web site, 1009 Hamilton Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada, phone: 604-331-1511) is a casual steakhouse in downtown Vancouver’s upscale Yaletown neighborhood. In addition to steaks, the Hamilton Street Grill offers tempting seafood and creative “small plate” appetizers created by their chef.
The HSG (as it is affectionately called, not to be mistaken with MSG which the chef most certainly avoids in his/her kitchen) is a favorite lunch place for me and my coworkers, as our office is nearby. Lunch prices are in the $11 to $15 range and dinner entrees are in the $25 to $35 range. The restaurant’s menus are available on their web site.
Pictured below is the Hamilton Street Burger ($12), which is made with house-ground Certified Angus Beef, bacon, cheddar cheese, sautéed onions, and chipotle mayo. I ordered my burger with a Caesar salad (included in the price) but I could have gotten a regular house salad, their popular Yam Fries, or regular fries instead. I thought the burger was especially delicious and gobbled up the whole thing in a flash (all the while making conversation and being pleasant of course!).

A little break from the usual restaurant updates… here are a few photos I took in downtown Vancouver, BC, Canada last weekend.
I am using a Canon Digital Rebel XT which I purchased at Future Shop, an electronics and computer games store in downtown Vancouver. Future Shop (web site, map, 798 Granville St, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, phone: (604) 683-2502) is located at Granville and Robson, which is quite close to the Granville Skytrain station.
The pictures were taken near the Miro Building (web site) at 1001 Richards Street in downtown Vancouver. The Miro, built in 2004, is a concrete condominium tower on the edge of Yaletown containing upscale condos with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. There are currently 8 units for sale in the Miro Building, ranging from $312,000 for a 517 square foot one bedroom, to $719,800 for a 926 square foot Penthouse unit. (Browse the Mls listings).
