Wild Ginger Restaurant (Tinseltown)

Wild Ginger Restaurant (web site, 604.893.8608, 2015 – 88 West Pender Street, Vancouver, BC) is a spacious, 120 seat restaurant hidden away behind the Tinseltown Mall food court, on the second level of the mall below the movie theatres. The Asian Pacific post writes:

Tantalizing fusion cuisine mixes local flavours with those of the Far East. Fun dishes to try include Kung Pao Power, Sticky Ribs, Mayo Mayo, and Spring Blossom Rolls.”

The menu features a selection of Chinese and Korean fusion dishes, as well as cook-at-your table Korean barbecue. Visit at lunch time for the best deals: a large entree with soup and salad goes for approximately $6.99. At dinner time the average entree price is around $16.00. Pictured below is the “Happy Family” entree ($16.99), which is a tasty mix of choice seafood, meat, and vegetables stir-fried and served in a sweet ginger and garlic sauce.

Zachary’s on Robson (part 3)

Another visit to Zachary’s on Robson (121 Robson St., phone 604.605.1472), and I enjoyed the Beef Stroganoff (around $12, pictured below), as well as the Calamari (deep fried squid) which was served with tatziki sauce (pictured below, around $7.00). More photos: Part 1, Part 2

Zachary’s is located a stone’s throw away from BC Place Stadium in the Hampton Inn and Suites Hotel. It’s also very close to Queen Elizabeth Theatre and GM Place Stadium.

Cactus Club Cafe in West Vancouver

Cactus Club (web site) is a chain of really trendy, energetic and fun restaurants with outstanding food.

Their location in West Vancouver (at Park Royal Village, 855 Main Street, West Vancouver, BC, phone, 604-922-1707) also features live jazz by the Geoff Peters Trio on selected Tuesday nights. Please call the restaurant to confirm about the live music.

Prices for dinner entrees are in the $15-$25 range. I really enjoyed the Steelhead Salmon Entree (pictured below) as well as my favorite snacking items, the Westcoast pockets (also pictured below). The Chicken Jambalaya rice bowl (also pictured below) was tasty as well.
