Vancouver - Vancouver Restaurants

The Reef Restaurant

The Reef Restaurant (web site, 4172 Main Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada, phone: 604-874-5375) serves Caribbean cuisine, a blend of European, African, and Asian flavors. The decor really adds to the candle-lit atmosphere, complete with a flaming steel drum, a wooden cottage facade with a corrugated tin roof over the kitchen window, and some colorful original paintings (which incidentally are for sale).

Check out their menu, which includes delicious items such as Oistin’s Flying Fish, a “Delicacy of Barbados”, fried in Bajan spices served with tartar sauce ($9, pictured below), as well as the Jamaican Jerk Wild Salmon ($14, also pictured below), which was really flavorful.

Ricky’s All Day Grill (Downtown)

Ricky’s All Day Grill (web site, 104-111 Dunsmuir Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada, phone: 604-602-9233) serves all day breakfasts, pizza, steak, sandwiches, rice bowls, and more. This location is just steps away from GM Place Stadium and BC Place Stadium, as well as the Stadium skytrain station and Chinatown.

Pictured below is the “BBQ Breakie bowl” ($11), which their menu describes as “Bourbon BBQ sauce brushed over ground-steak burger, 3 scrambled eggs, green onion, diced tomatoes, and grated cheese on seasoned chunky potatoes with red onion, topped with ranchero-hollandaise and your choice of toast.” I quite liked it, although it was a lot of food for lunch!

Library Square Public House (Part 2)

Library Square Public House (web site, 300 West Georgia St., Vancouver, BC, Canada, phone: 604 633-9644) is a neighborhood pub conveniently located near Queen Elizabeth Theatre as well as the Vancouver sports stadiums downtown: GM Place Stadium and BC Place Stadium.

Pictured below is my very delicious Mushroom Burger ($11) which had all the toppings including bacon, cheese, onions, lettuce, and a slice of tomato. I added an extra $1 to get a side Caesar salad instead of the house salad. For more info view: Part 1.
