Christie’s Carriage House Pub (1739 Fort Street, Victoria, BC, Canada, phone 250-598-5333) is a popular pub in the Victoria area which is located in an authentic heritage house. Christie’s web site describes:

The proprietor welcomes you to meet and share a pint in a comfortable atmosphere with fireplaces in cozy rooms, antique lighting and decor of the Queen Anne period.) At night the Pub is alive with more than the sound of music as friends gather to share the events of the day, team players slip off for a pint, or neighbours gather for a night cap waited on by the friendliest staff in town.

I was in the mood for something lighter so I ordered the Yellowfin Tuna Salad which was a large yellowfin tuna steak grilled medium rare, served with fresh greens, tropical salsa and avocado (pictured below, $12). Yamato Sushi Restaurant (visitor reviews, 616 Davie St, Vancouver, BC, Canada, phone: 604-682-5494) is a tiny hole-in-the-wall Japanese restaurant on the edge of Yaletown downtown. Yamato has decent food quality and incredibly low prices.

Carrotstop, a reviewer on Dinehere.ca writes:

[…] Yamato Sushi on Davie is the perfect place for me. They have great combo deals, like 18 pieces of sushi for $5.50. That’s what I always get. Sushi combo, and with a little extra cost, I can twist the combo a little and get the special rolls I love (the avocado roll). The portions are on the larger side. The quality of the sushi rice is nice, soft and fluffy. The wasabi is to kill for. It is very strong, I love it.

Wing Kee Seafood Restaurant (web site, 120-8260 Granville Avenue, Richmond, BC, Canada, phone 604-270-1825) specializes in Hong Kong Style Fried Crab (pictured below) as well as other seafood, barbecue pork, and wonton soup. They offer Chinese food delivery to the Richmond area until 3am. We had a large group and we ordered one dish each plus three crabs, and the price came out to approximately $25 per person including tax and tip. There are many Chinese restaurants in the Richmond area, but Wing Kee is where my family usually ends up going. We agreed after our latest meal that everything on the table was delicious!!
