Library Square Public House (Vancouver)

Library Square Public House (web site, 300 W. Georgia St., phone 604 633-9644) is a popular pub and hang-out place located in downtown Vancouver next to the Vancouver Public Library. Decor is tastefully minimalist with some smaller art pieces by Emily Carr students. Large TV’s are perfect for keeping tabs on the game, and across the street you’ll find Queen Elizabeth theatre and only a couple blocks away, GM Place and BC Place Stadium. Along with the usual pub fare, the food menu is strictly sandwiches and burgers, unless you are there after 4pm when they also serve steaks and chops. I really enjoyed my chicken and cheddar sandwich which was served with a fresh hot house tomato slice and a side Caesar salad (pictured below).

Hamilton Street Grill (Part 3)

Another visit to Hamilton Street Grill in Yaletown (1009 Hamilton Street, Vancouver, phone 604-331-1511), and I got a couple more photos. Shown below are the Caesar Salad (half, $4.00), and the pasta special of the day which was around $12. More photos: view Part 1 and Part 2.

Mel’s Coffee and Diner (Yaletown)

Mel’s Coffee and Diner, or Melriches (1043 Mainland Street, Vancouver, BC, phone (604) 681-2120) is a comfortable, warm, and well-kept place to have a casual lunch downtown. Located in the heart of Vancouver’s upscale Yaletown district, Mel’s is perfect for those times you don’t feel like shelling out the big bucks for a lunch on the town. Order your food from up front, picking from their tempting selection of sandwiches, panini’s, and all day breakfast items. I quite enjoyed the Perogies which were served with a chick pea salad (pictured below, $9.49 including tax).
